You begin at level one, and across three in-game days, you must farm gear, defeat bosses, and level up on a procedurally generated island called Limveld . A battle royale-esque circle constricts at set times, eventually forcing you into a final showdown against one of eight incredibly difficult Nightlord bosses .

Each run is a fresh start. While you lose your gear when you die, you earn persistent upgrades called “Relics” that can be equipped before subsequent runs to impart stat bonuses, starting skills, and even class-specific improvements .
